| The water walk
|
"My soul is thirsting for the living God" was the pastoral theme for 2002. Pilgrims will be invited to look at four things linked to the spring of the Grotto: Look deeper, wash, drink of the Spring, and take home some water. For this the Sanctuary authorities wish the pilgrims to have direct access to the water. As well as the usual things (going to the Baths, drinking the water from the taps) pilgrims will find on the opposite side of the Gave bowls of water where they can wash their face. The water will come from the Spring, like that of the Baths
Groups and individuals can carry out a gesture, like washing their face with the water, sometimes during a liturgy.
On the right-hand side of the Gave there are nine water points supplied with water from the Spring. They carry names from the Bible as well as a title for the Blessed Virgin Mary:
1. Beer-sheeba: Genesis 21, 25-34 (Our lady of Alliance) 2. On the Road to Gaza: Acts 8, 26-40 (Mother of Good Counsel) 3.Meribah: Exodus 17, 1-7 (Our Lady of Penance) 4. Engedi: Songs of Songs 1, 13-14 (Our Lady of Joy) 5. Living Water: John 7, 37-39 (Queen of Apostles) 6. Nazereth: Luke 2, 51-52 (Our Lady of the Beatitudes) 7. Jacob's Well: John 4, 1-26 (Our Lady of Living Water) 8. Bethesda: John 5, 1-18 (Our Lady of Good Health) 9. Siloam: John 9, 1-41 (Our Lady of Light)
Groups and individuals can carry out a gesture, like washing their face with the water, sometimes during a liturgy.
