2 November, Commemoration of All Faithful Departed

Published on 2 November 2021 - 06:00

The first of November is the Feast of All Saints. November 2nd is dedicated to those who have passed away.

Let us pray for those who are dear to us

Since 998, November 2nd is the day when we remember those who have departed, and we pray particularly for them.

We think of all those who have passed away, and who were special to us. We do not forget them, and for this reason we have a mass said for them and light a candle to their memory.

By doing so, we are reminded of the communion of saints. Jesus Christ is the Lord of the living and the dead.

In many countries at this time people put flowers on the graves of their departed family members.
