You can spend some time in personal and silent prayer before the Blessed Sacrament exposed in a monstrance. A restful time of prayer.
Eucharistic Adoration is available every day in the Sanctuary of Lourdes at different times and locations according to the time of the year. During the pilgrimage season, adoration follows the Eucharistic Procession at 5.00pm in the Basilica of Saint Pius X. It also takes place every evening between 11.30pm and midnight from April to October at the Grotto of the Apparitions after the 11.00pm Mass.
Did you know? Both Pope John Paul II in 1983 and Pope Benedict VI on 15th September 2008 spent a time in Eucharistic Adoration in the Sanctuary of Lourdes. In his meditation, Pope Benedict said, “The Eucharist is also Jesus Christ in the future, Jesus Christ to come. When we contemplate the sacred host, his glorious transfigured and risen Body, we contemplate what we shall contemplate in eternity, where we shall discover that the whole world has been carried by its Creator during every second of its history. Each time we consume him, but also each time we contemplate him, we proclaim him until he comes again, ‘donec veniat’. That is why we receive him with infinite respect”.
