Praying the Rosary

Un objet pour prier le rosaire : le chapelet officiel du Sanctuaire de Lourdes

Bernadette Soubirous prayed the Rosary during the Apparitions, her rosary beads in her hand. Pope John Paul II wrote, "The Rosary of the Virgin Mary is a prayer of great significance destined to bring forth a harvest of holiness".

Lourdes is an important place for the prayer of the Rosary. This prayer takes place at least three times a day in the Sanctuary between April and October: at the Grotto at 3.30 pm (in French, 30mn)  and at 6.00 pm (in Italian, 30 mn), also at the Grotto at 2.30pm every Monday and Wednesday (in English, 30mn) and at 9.00 pm during the Marian Torchlight Procession (duration 1h). Rosary beads are used to pray the Rosary. A ‘decade of the Rosary’ starts with the Our Father followed by ten Hail Marys ending with Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
