Come and experience Christmas at the Sanctuary!

Published on 9 December 2021 - 10:33

Illuminations, nativity scenes and music: the Sanctuary offers you the opportunity to experience a warm and bright Advent season that will guide you towards the great feast of the Nativity.

The feast of compassion

“The feast of the birth of Christ is not out of tune with the trial we are going through because it is the quintessential feast of compassion, the feast of tenderness. Its beauty is humble and full of human warmth.”
The words of Pope Francis, delivered on 22nd November, invite us to experience this time of preparation for Christmas with simplicity and regard for our neighbours.

The season of Advent is a period of waiting and preparation of hearts in readiness to celebrate the Nativity when God becomes man among humankind.
This year, the Sanctuary offers you different opportunities to prepare for and welcome the great joy of the birth of Christ the Saviour.

A shrine lit up until Epiphany
From 5th December, every day at 6:30 p.m.
The Sanctuary will be lit up with a thousand lights from its doors to the chapels of light, passing by the Basilica of the Rosary and the three cribs of the Sanctuary.
Come and immerse yourself in a magical and musical atmosphere during this time of waiting for the Saviour.
