The Sanctuary’s archives and library service aims to make written resources on the history and development of the Sanctuary of Lourdes available to all (including works on the history of Lourdes and pilgrimages, as well as written, iconographic and photographic archives).
The library also has a collection on Mariology that is unique in France: the history and worship of the Virgin Mary (history of Mariology, Marian theology, history of apparitions and shrines around the world, Patristics, theology).
Documents can be consulted on site. Loans are not permitted. Remote searches are also available.
