Lourdes February Days of 2019, from Friday 8th Monday 11th February.

This eagerly anticipated event will enable us to delve deeper into the pastoral theme of the 2019 pilgrimages: “Blessed are the poor,” a word, a challenge for today. The figure of Saint Bernadette will be the thread running through the conferences, workshops and meetings. On 7th January 2019, the 175th anniversary of the birth of Bernadette, we will open a ” Year of Bernadette ” in Lourdes.

 

There are lots of innovations waiting to be discovered.

The village of landmarks

During the Lourdes February Days, the Information Centre building will be renamed the “Village des Repères” (the Orientation Village). A place where you can find out all about the initiatives in Lourdes, that will enable you to enrich and promote the organisation of your pilgrimages. Designed especially for you, the village will be divided into several areas where everyone can enjoy finding out about the many new proposals for 2019.

Visits to the accommodation for the sick and vulnerable in Lourdes

New in 2019, the Sanctuary invites you to get to know these unique places of welcome for the sick and vulnerable, such as the Accueil Notre Dame, Hosanna House, Bartrès, or the community of Cenacolo. In the Marian city or in its surroundings, you can take part in these visits and have lunch on site.

The 2019 workshops

The Year of Bernadette, the pastoral theme for 2020 “I am the Immaculate Conception”, Lourdes and healings or “Young people in Lourdes”, the Sanctuary offers a choice of participatory workshops where we can work together on outreach for our pilgrimages and the Message of Lourdes.

After a cocktail dinner reception, a special evening has been set aside where you can meet the artists of the upcoming musical “Bernadette de Lourdes”, launched in July 2019.

During the Lourdes February Days, directors Thierry Demaizière and Alban Teurlai will screen their film entitled “Lourdes”, due to be released on 8th May 2019.

50 € -The participation fee allows the Sanctuary to cover organisational expenses (logistics set-up, equipment rental, simultaneous translation, speaker travel, printing of documents …).
