Support Lourdes: Give Hope a Future
_________________
Since 1858, the Sanctuary of Lourdes has been a place of faith, healing and welcome for millions of pilgrims from all over the world, especially the sick and the most vulnerable. However, contrary to what one might think, Lourdes receives no public or ecclesiastical subsidies. It survives exclusively thanks to the generosity of its donors.
Today, your help is needed more than ever to:
1. Provide a dignified welcome for all
- Lourdes is one of the few sanctuaries in the world that welcomes so many people who are sick or who have a disability. Welcoming everyone with dignity and respect requires a concrete and financial commitment on the part of the Sanctuary. Every celebration, every gesture of welcome, every place that is open requires human and structural resources.
2. Ensuring the spiritual missions of the Sanctuary
- Celebrations, processions, administration of the sacraments, blessings of the sick, spiritual retreats, prayer vigils: all this is made possible thanks to your support.
- Every day, Lourdes transmits a message of Hope that deeply touches believers and visitors from all over the world.
3. Financing concrete renovation and construction projects
- Regular maintenance work is necessary on the iconic sites: the Grotto, the three basilicas, the 25 chapels, the fountains…
- The Sanctuary ensures the maintenance and renovation of accommodation for permanent chaplains, confessors, and seminarians.
- Sometimes more substantial refurbishments are required.
