Following the Eucharistic Procession

Please note the following changes for the last days of the 2017 pilgrimage season !
Thursday 26st October: 5.00pm- Eucharistic Adoration in the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception (no procession)
Friday 27th, Saturday 28th, Sunday 29th October : Eucharistic Adoration  in the Rosary Basilica (no Procession)

You can take part in the procession in honour of Jesus Christ present in the Blessed Sacrament every day.

"Go and tell the Priests that a chapel should be built here and that people should come here in procession", the Virgin Mary asked Bernadette during an Apparition. Every day from April to October at 5.00pm the Lourdes pilgrims respond to the request of the Virgin Mary by gathering for the ‘Eucharistic’ Procession.  The Procession starts in the Prairie of the Sanctuary and finishes in the Basilica of Saint Pius X with a time of adoration of the Blessed Sacrament followed by the blessing of pilgrims, with the sick occupying the front rows.

The Eucharistic Procession dates back to 1874. It has assumed different forms according to the times. In very warm or bad weather, the procession is replaced by ‘Eucharistic praise’.

Did you know? You can prepare your participation in the procession with a time of adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in one of the chapels of the Sanctuary (enquire at the Information Centre).
