YOUCAT at the heart of the new evangelisation in Lourdes

In Lourdes, a centre of evangelisation for young people and families, a pilot project has been set up this summer. Operation Youcat is represented by six young people from Latin America, Australia, the Middle East and Europe who are ready at the Information Centre, in the Saint Veronica Gallery and near The Little House of Bernadette to welcome all young people who wish to reflect on their faith.

Operation YOUCAT in Lourdes this summer

From the beginning of July to mid-September, these young volunteers offer programmes in all languages, as well as opportunities to meet. This young team invites you to reflect so that, together, you can answer questions about the faith. For, as Pope Francis describes in his apostolic letter Sanctuarium in Ecclesia, “These places, despite the crisis of faith that engulfs the contemporary world, are still perceived as sacred spaces to which pilgrims go to find a moment of rest, silence and contemplation in today’s often hectic life.” (SiE 3).

Save the date

Throughout the summer in Lourdes, the Youcat team, easily recognisable in their yellow t-shirts, extends an invitation to conferences, youth evenings, sharing testimonies, picnics … Get in touch with them. Feel free to join them. Sign up for any of their activities. Come meet them and discover the wonders of God. “One of the most beautiful aspects of the pilgrimage for the sick is represented by the amount of love poured on them by people whom they have never met before”, explains the Holy Father in his apostolic letter.
From today onwards, you can contact them:
claudia.weiss@youcat.org
They will be delighted to rush the complete programme direct to your inbox.

Grow in faith with YOUCAT

By taking part in the workshops offered by Youcat you will be able to reflect on all the issues which you have questions about: the Immaculate Conception of Mary, the contradiction between the existence of the evil and the omnipotence and goodness of God, serving one’s neighbour, how to pray, the Eucharist, confession … in dialogue and in confidence. Topics are determined at the beginning of each workshop. Groups of more than 15 people should register in advance and indicate the subject(s) they wish to address.

YOUCAT workshop for the whole family: “When little philosophers ask big questions.”

Studies show that if a child is raised in the faith, the likelihood that he or she will retain it as an adult, increases dramatically. But how do you talk about faith with your children? This workshop will explore how to engage in faith conversations with children with the help of the YOUCAT book for children, the catechism for children and their parents. Sign up for the workshops at the YOUCAT Stand:
Thursday from 9:00am to 12am and from 2:00pm to 5pm
