Friends,
You may not be able to physically make your way to Lourdes, but nevertheless your presence can be felt here. You are present in the prayers of the chaplains. They are praying for you. They are praying with you. Your presence is represented by the votive candle you have asked us to light on your behalf. Each time we light one of those candles, we hold in our hearts, the person who asked for the light of the candle to shine at the feet of the statue of Our Lady of Lourdes —the statue that is usually at the head of our evening processions. This crown of light symbolizes all those who are united through their faith, through prayer, through their generosity to the mission of the Sanctuary. This mission will always remain that of welcoming everyone, especially the most fragile amongst us. Today, we welcome your intentions, your vulnerabilities, and your hopes
