Experience Holy Week live on TV Lourdes with the Sanctuary “chapelains”

Published on 3 April 2020 - 16:37

Catholics are preparing to celebrate Easter in a way that is completely unprecedented. So that everyone can be united in prayer, the Sanctuary “chapelains” will be celebrating all the services of Holy Week live from the Grotto of Lourdes (as well as from the Rosary Basilica).

Supported by the rector of the Sanctuary, the “chapelains” will be praying particularly for the sick affected by the coronavirus pandemic, for healthcare professionals, for the deceased, and for all those who are suffering.

“The Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes has long been a very special place of prayer for and with the sick. It is in this spirit that we live through this episode with the greatest possible composure and in the Hope of Christ victorious over death.”
Mgr. Antoine Hérouard
Apostolic Delegate for the Sanctuary of Lourdes

Let us pray.
Let us place ourselves in the hands of God and prepare our hearts for the joy of Easter, with a prayer from Saint Bernadette.

A poor beggar’s prayer to Jesus

«O Jesus

give me, I beg you,

the bread of humility,

the bread of obedience,

the bread of charity,

the bread o strength to break my will

and mould it to yours,

the bread of interior mortification,

the bread of detachment from creatures,

the bread of patience to bear

the sufferings my heart endures.

O Jesus, you want me to be crucified, fiat

the bread of strength to suffer as I ought,

the bread of seeing you in all things

and at all times

Jesus, Mary, The Cross

I want no other friends but these.”
