3 cribs for 3 churches
Inspired by Bernadette’s life, three cribs have been created by the Italian artist Emilio Burri (Genoa). Unveiled on 8th December during a celebration presided over by Bishop Antoine Hérouard, Auxiliary Bishop of Lille, Apostolic Delegate for the Sanctuary of Lourdes, they represent the Boly Mill, the Grotto and the Family house. These cribs are placed in the crypt and in the Immaculate Conception and Rosary basilicas.
A pathway of cribs
From 8th December each day, it will be possible to follow a pathway of cribs. Meet at the Information Centre at 2:30 pm.
11pm Mass at the Grotto presided over by Bishop Nicolas Brouwet (if the weather is bad, at the Rosary Basilica).
Every weekend, at the Grotto, an international rosary by torchlight
Throughout the year, pilgrims can come to bare their hearts in front of the Grotto and leave with renewed strength. The torchlight procession is the most popular image of Lourdes. There will be an international rosary by torchlight this winter at the Grotto on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, starting at 8:30 pm. This will allow pilgrims or visitors to feel more welcome through a specific time of prayer.
The little house of Bernadette
On the first floor of the Information Centre, the Little House of Bernadette offers accompanied children a whole range of games and activities to help them discover the message of Lourdes.
