Installation of a fire safety system in the rafters of the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception

Installation d’un dispositif de securité incendie des combles de la basilique de l’Immaculee Conception

The Basilica of the Immaculate Conception (“Upper Basilica”), a major neo-Gothic work dating from the mid-19th century, is composed of a nave with a wooden frame, and a bell tower with wooden flooring.
After the fire in April 2019 at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, it has become mandatory for the Sanctuary to undertake protective measures against fire in the Upper Basilica.
Warning devices, thermal cameras, and water hose pipes will be installed as part of a comprehensive protection system.
