RENOVATE, BUILD AND DEVELOP THE SANCTUARY OF TOMORROW
For the future of the Sanctuary in the 2030s, work must start now. The Sanctuary must stay on course and continue to adapt and improve in three key areas: the celebration of liturgies, access to Bernadette’s story and the quality of its hospitality services.
Support the Sanctuary
In 1858, in Lourdes, the Virgin Mary appeared to Bernadette Soubirous. She asked her to “Go and tell the priests to build a chapel here and that people should come in procession”. This was the beginning of the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes. Even today, millions of pilgrims travel the world to come to Lourdes. Foremost among them are people who are sick, disabled or vulnerable. Providing a dignified welcome for each pilgrim involves significant overheads. Without donations, the Sanctuary can do nothing.
